ANGUS OGILVIE

b. 1989

Angus is currently based in Florence and exploring a range of new materials and processes to execute his sculptures. He is one third of the sculpture collective Bask who together make large scale sculptures combing their styles.

Ogilvie imbues geometry with physical presence. Aside from his playful formal language his work is defined by an integration of architectural forms.

“Some elements of the work are meticulously controlled, while others are left to their own devises, sometimes the surface of the sculpture is left to chance, in other cases it’s the mathematical engine that’s driving the work”  through this tension, the artist explores the role of art and architecture in our constantly shifting urban fabric.

Since graduating from Camberwell College of Art, his work has been included in exhibitions in both the UK and Italy. Ogilvie is also part of ‘BASK’ collective who have completed numerous public sculpture commissions and also feature in several international art collections.
